Work of the Narni iEARN school Project
*********************************
In 2002 we started to work with some of the schools in Narni, Italy to help young people get to know the "Chronicles of Narnia" series by C.S. Lewis that until then, were not very well known in Italy.

The project deals with the following activities:

  • Reading the books and looking at the materials produced with the multimedia supports;
  • Comparing the religious aspects of the book;
  • Doing an in-depth study of other such books like "Harry Potter" and " The Lord of the Rings";
  • Creating pictures imagined in scenes of the books.

Other activities we have done up to this point are:

Creating a collection of multimedia materials from different countries in the world,
Translating those materials into the different languages of the schools partaking in the project
During this school year an exhibition of the covers of these books was organized
There is also a Theatre exhibition for this work and during the school year many students and teachers are involved.
To culminate the project, students produce " The lion the witch and the wardrobe " at a Narni Theatre and also in another nearby Theater.

At the same time we have worked through the internet to have national and international contact and we have found many other people involved in this beautiful adventure.

Here is a breakdown of some of our participants:

  • 40 students from Elementary School of Narni (10-11 year olds)
  • 60 students from Liceum Scientifich Gandhi di Narni (for theatre work 'Oltre l'armadio')
  • 22 older folks from a University for senior Narnian people who are doing Internet work.
  • 25 students (3-4-5 years old) of school dell'Infanzia sez. G IC Don Milani from Latina
  • 12 students from Liceo Artistico Statale di Latina, rif. Prof. Carlo Nati
  • 12 students from Liceo Scientifico Tecnologico Marconi di Latina, rif. Prof. Claudio Castelli
  • 12 students from Perugia high-school, rif. Prof. M.Bracardi e G.Cesarini who works with reality creations from The Chronicles of Narnia Awedu ingioco6 from Perugia

In 2005 we started the Book Games in Terni, Italy that will involve about 20 middle schools, (about 400 students and teachers) that have Chronicles of Narnia as a reference book. The students will use this reference in a number of competitions.

On an international level, through the iEARN organization that puts our work in the iEARN project book, we have created contacts with some teachers like:
Alice Ball from Canada
Agustin Bosso from Argentina
Anna Karakhanyan from Armenia
Mihkel Pilv from Estonia
Yuri Romanenkov from Lithuania
Melo Tungol from Philippines
Spiros Tzelepis from Greece

We are waiting for you also!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
